Fine Dining at Dan’s Bistro
Peanut Butter Cheesecake! To die for!
Last week we went out to eat at an awesome little restaurant called Dan’s Bistro. I had never eaten there before, and I’m not sure why. Might be because it doesn’t look like much from the outside. It is in this building that looks like a little strip mall so that’s kind of off-putting, but once inside the atmosphere was simple and elegant.
The dinner menu reflects the best of European fare with French, German, Portuguese, and Italian dishes represented with just a hint of of American (Select Steaks and Seafood)
We started our meal with the Stuffed Mushroom Caps filled with sweet Italian sausage and Parmesan Reggiano. As there were five of us these went quick and were very tasty.
I had the Veal Schnitzel, which had a wild mushroom brandy sauce and was served with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The mushroom sauce was so flavorful and rich. Honestly, I could have eaten the sauce on its own like it was a soup. The veal was lightly breaded and tender and there was plenty, so I had a tasty lunch the following day. My friend had the Seafood Portuguesa, which looked amazing. This is a mussel, scallops, shrimp, cod and Linguicia Sausage in a rich broth with rice and crusty bread. From my sampling this was delicious too.
For dessert there was an amazing peanut butter cheesecake. It was so rich, creamy. All of the desserts are made in house and they definitely tasted like they were. We received a basket that had fresh baked croissants and other rolls to accompany dinner.
What really stood out to me, aside from our amazing food, was the service. Our waitress was attentive and we never ran out of any of our drinks. Which reminds me it’s a B.Y.O.B. (bring your own booze) restaurant. There is a $5 corkage fee for all bottles of wine. They had a back server who replenished our silverware…very European.
If you get a chance I would pay a visit. It’s become one of my new favorites for dining in Sedona. Our Concierge team would be happy to make a reservation for you. Just call 1-800-353-1239.
