Relaxing Afternoon

I had the great pleasure of visiting the New Day Spa this week for a Body-Mind Relaxation Massage. What a treat! What I love about the New Day Spa is how relaxing there facility is. After you change into a robe and slippers, you can either wait for your masseuse in the front lounge where there are juices and snacks; or you can wait in the back lounge where there are whicker loungers and a bevy of magazines. Beauty Salons are the only place I ever read those celebrity magazines and I picked one up to flip through while I waited.

The first part of my massage was done with brushes. The bristles were soft and slightly firm. The light fluid strokes stimulate the movement of lymphatic fluid and to top it off felt heavenly. She said this movement would release toxins and improve circulation. It was like getting your back scratched with a hundred fingers. She finished by brushing my hair and scalp.

Next I was led through a connecting door to a room that had an amazing sunken tub for two.  The bath salts were very relaxing and smelt heavenly. I soaked in the jets and snacked on fruit and sweets for about ten minutes before returning to the massage room.

This was my first experience with having a hot stone massage.  I had seen this before in pictures, but never really understood what this was. First my body was rubbed down in an amazingly soothing body oil. Then with heated stones in her hands the masseuse gave me a massage. The heat from the stones felt amazing and oh so relaxing. She said that the heat helped loosen the muscles.  She finished with a facial massage with a rosemary lotion. I nearly fell asleep.

I felt so relaxed and amazing when it was all over. Everyone should treat themselves to a massage once in a while and I highly recommend The New Day Spa.
