Time to get Your Hike On

Sedona Hotels The Devils Bridge4 200x300 Time to get Your Hike On

Me and my friends on the Devil's Bridge

This is the perfect time of year to go hit the trails. Not too hot, not too cold. Some friends and I decided to hike the Devil’s Bridge trail which is short drive from the Sedona Réal. Take Dry Creek Road to forest road152 and make a right. The trail head is about 10 to 15 minutes down the forest road and the parking area will be clearly marked.

This is such a pretty hike right in the heart of red rock country.  It is a short hike, with a moderate elevation change. Maybe took us 45 minutes. There were amazing panoramic views, interesting rock formations, and the end result was stunning. You can walk right out onto the arch. We had a fellow hiker take a pic of us on the bridge. You can also go beneath the arch which is a cool perspective.

This hike is located down a dirt rode that isn’t graded so it’s best to drive a vehicle that can  handle some rough terrain and has high clearance. I have done it before in a non 4×4 vehicle, but that can be kind of hit or miss depending on what kind of weather we have had, so keep that in mind. You might want to check out Barlow, the local jeep rental place, if you want take on some of the rougher road in the area.

Our inn has a hiking special. If you stay 3 or more nights after May1st,  you get a weekly hiking pass and a copy of Sedona’s Top 10 Hikes for free.
